The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has selected Sanjiv Kumar Singh for the post of CMD of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Schedule ‘A’ Central PSU. Singh, who is currently serving as Director (Mining) at HCL, was chosen after an interview process involving seven candidates.
Singh’s appointment is subject to requisite clearances and the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Once approved, he will succeed Arun Kumar Shukla, who retired from the position on July 31, 2023.
The PESB had invited applications for the post, requiring experienced professionals meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria, with the application deadline set for October 24, 2024.
Hindustan Copper Limited, India’s only vertically integrated copper-producing company, is expected to benefit from Singh’s extensive expertise in mining and leadership as he takes over the reins of the organization.
