Santosh Kumar Sarangi Appointed as CMD of Solar Energy Corporation of India

Santosh Kumar Sarangi, IAS (Odisha cadre, 1994 batch), Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, has been entrusted with the additional charge of CMD of Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI).

The assignment comes in the wake of the premature termination of Rameshwar Prasad Gupta from the post, just days before the scheduled end of his tenure.

According to an official statement, the competent authority has approved the assignment of the additional charge of the post of CMD, SECI to Shri Sarangi “till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

SECI functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and plays a key role in implementing India’s renewable energy programs, particularly in the solar sector.
