Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, marked a significant milestone with the formal exchange of an agreement with MDO M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited for the development of the Chuperbhita-Shimlong Open Cast Project (OCP) under the Rajmahal Area.
The “Agreement Exchange Ceremony” was held at ECL’s headquarters in Sanctoria, signifying the beginning of a strategic collaboration for the execution and operational management of the 6 million tonne per year (MTY) capacity project. The Chuperbhita-Shimlong OCP is expected to play a crucial role in boosting coal production and strengthening energy security.
Chairman-cum-Managing Director of ECL, Satish Jha, graced the occasion along with ECL’s Functional Directors and senior officials. The agreement was formally exchanged between Shri A. N. Nayak, Area General Manager of Rajmahal Area, ECL, and Ravi Ranjan Chaubey, Head of M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited.
This collaboration is poised to enhance operational efficiency, generate employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to the regional and national coal output targets.
