Satish Jha has taken over as the CMD of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL). His appointment follows a selection by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on July 30, 2024.
Eastern Coalfields Limited is a Schedule ‘B’ Central Public Sector Undertaking, playing a pivotal role in India’s coal mining industry.
Prior to his new role, Jha served as Director (Technical) at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), showcasing his extensive expertise in technical operations and strategic planning within the coal sector.
