Senior IAS Officers Transferred; New Appointments Announced in Key Ministries

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers on Wednesday evening, appointing new secretaries in several ministries and departments. This move aims to bolster administrative efficiency and streamline governance across key portfolios.

List of Appointments and Transfers:

1. Rachna Shah (IAS: KL:91)
   Currently Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, has been appointed as the new Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
2. Arunish Chawla (IAS: BH:92)
   Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. He will also hold additional charge as Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
3. Vineet Joshi (IAS: MN:92)
   Presently serving in his cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
4. Sanjay Sethi (IAS: MH:92)
   Appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities, Ministry of Minority Affairs, replacing Neelam Shammi Rao (IAS: MP:92).
5. Neelam Shammi Rao (IAS: MP:92)
   Former Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC), has been made Secretary, National Minorities Commission.
6. Amit Aggarwal (IAS: CG:93)
   Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, succeeding Arunish Chawla (IAS: BH:92).
7. Neerja Shekhar (IAS: HY:93)
   Special Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been posted as Director General, National Productivity Council, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
