The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today has appointed Rajiv Ranjan and Sitikantha Pattanaik as their Executive Directors, effective from May 01, 2022.
Rajiv Ranjan in his new post will manage the Monetary Policy Department and serve as an ex-officio member of the Monetary Policy Committee.
Prior to his appointment, Rajiv Ranjan was serving as Advisor in the Charge of the Policy Department and Secretary to the MPC. He has a rich experience of over 30 years in macroeconomics policy and research including fiscal policy, real sector, external sector, and monetary policy.
Sitikantha Pattanaik as Executive Director will manage the Department of Economic and Policy Research.
Prior to his new posting, Pattanaik was serving as an Adviser in the Department of Economic and Policy Research. He carries a rich experience of over 30 years. Pattanaik has been also associated with the Central Bank of Oman on deputation from the central bank for about 5 years.
