Senior IPS officer Tadasha Mishra (IPS: 1994: JH) has been appointed as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Jharkhand, following the resignation of Anurag Gupta (IPS: 1990: JH).

Currently serving as Special Secretary, Home, Prisons, and Disaster Management Department, Mishra will lead the Jharkhand Police until her retirement in December 2025, marking a brief but significant tenure at the helm of the state’s police force.

Sources indicated that senior officers Anil Palta (IPS: 1992: JH), Prashant Singh (IPS: 1992: JH), and M.S. Bhatia (IPS: 1993: JH) were also under consideration for the top post before the government finalized Mishra’s appointment.

Her appointment comes at a crucial time for the state, ensuring continuity in leadership and administrative stability within the police force during the transition period.
