Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, met with Sethuraman Panchanathan, the director of the US National Foundation (NSF), on Sunday to discuss fostering partnerships in fields like artificial intelligence, space exploration, agriculture, and health.

The meeting between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took place during the QUAD Summit in Tokyo in May, and the two sides discussed potential areas of S&T cooperation, the finance ministry said in a series of tweets.
Both parties stressed the need to further develop and solidify their long-standing, democratic, and value-based relationship in particular fields like artificial intelligence, data science, quantum computing, space agriculture, and health, it continued.
The ministry said that Dr. Panch emphasised on attaining innovation at speed and scale with inclusivity and solution-based research methodology while discussing the mission and goals of NSF.
