Promoting transparency and data-driven governance, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has begun sharing anonymized, non-personal data from the Aadhaar Dashboard on the government’s open data platform, data.gov.in.
The datasets, made available by UIDAI’s Chief Data Officer and Deputy Director General, offer aggregated insights into Aadhaar enrolment, updates, and authentication trends. These insights are categorized by geography, age groups, and other relevant parameters, making them valuable for researchers, policymakers, and innovators.
This initiative is aimed at fostering academic research, enabling innovation in digital services, and encouraging collaborative development across sectors. By providing open access to structured and anonymized data, UIDAI seeks to support evidence-based policymaking and promote the development of inclusive digital public infrastructure.
The move also aligns with the Government of India’s broader vision of maximizing the utility of open data to enhance public service delivery, boost digital inclusion, and ensure more informed policy interventions. Researchers, startups, and government bodies are expected to benefit from the newly available datasets, paving the way for innovative applications and more responsive governance models.
