In a significant leap towards improving healthcare accessibility in the remote hilly areas of the Ramnagar region in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, inaugurated the state-of-the-art “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels” Telemedicine Mobile Clinic.
The upgraded Tele Clinic, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), aims to address the healthcare needs of areas where medical facilities are scarce or insufficient. “Aarogya” operates on an advanced methodology, allowing patients to articulate their ailments in their native language. The AI-driven system comprehends the language and responds, creating a seamless communication channel between the patient and the virtual doctor.
Following the initial consultation, patients are connected to leading super specialists in the country through partnerships with renowned hospitals. The telemedicine hospital conducts a comprehensive examination of the patient’s entire body profile and investigations. Within a remarkably short span of 40 to 50 minutes, patients receive a prescription, and all treatment costs are covered free of charge.
Dr. Singh emphasized that the initiative is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to extending healthcare facilities to the remotest corners of the country by leveraging cutting-edge technological advancements.
The successful implementation of the “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels” initiative began with its first phase in the Gandoh area of district Doda, followed by phases in the Zero Line villages along the International Border and the upper reaches of Bilawar. The upcoming fourth phase is scheduled to be conducted in Dudu Basantgarh in the upper reaches of the Ramnagar block of Udhampur in the next few months.
Dr. Jitendra Singh urged local residents to make use of this groundbreaking facility, emphasizing that this super-speciality hospital on wheels brings expert medical care directly to their doorsteps. The “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels” initiative reflects the government’s commitment to bridging healthcare gaps through innovative solutions, ensuring that no region is left underserved.
