In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Uttar Pradesh Government has undertaken a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring 7 IAS officers across various departments within the state. These changes aim to streamline governance and enhance efficiency in key sectors.
Notably, in Firozabad district, a new District Magistrate (DM) has been appointed. Ujjwal Kumar, who previously held the DM position in Firozabad, will now assume the role of Special Secretary MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises). Taking over from Kumar is Ramesh Ranjan, who brings a wealth of experience from his position as the Mission Director of Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission.
In other key appointments, Arun Prakash, who formerly served as the Special Secretary MSME, has been reassigned to the role of Special Secretary Urban Development. Gaurav Verma, previously Special Secretary Youth Welfare, will now take charge as the Special Secretary of Secretariat Administration, bringing his expertise to this crucial administrative role.
Furthering the shuffle, Sheshnath, who previously held the position of Special Secretary Sugarcane Development, has been transferred to the role of Special Secretary Public Works, with the aim of bolstering infrastructure initiatives across the state. Isha Priya, previously serving as the Additional Registrar Cooperative, will now serve as the Special Secretary Tourism, focusing on promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
Lastly, Atal Rai, who previously served as the Special Secretary of Food and Logistics, will now bring his administrative acumen to the role of Director of Panchayati Raj.
