The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has announced the selection of Vilas Sopan Wadekar for the prestigious position of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVCL), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking. Wadekar, who currently serves as Director (Technical) at MRVCL, emerged as the top candidate among two individuals interviewed for the role.
Wadekar’s selection is subject to requisite clearances and the formal approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Upon approval, he will succeed Subhash Chand Gupta, who will be retiring on January 31, 2025.
