Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated two institutes under the Ministry of Ayush, marking a significant step towards promoting holistic healthcare across the country. The inaugurations included the ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ (CRIYN) in Jhajjar, Haryana, and the ‘National Institute of Naturopathy’ (NIN) titled ‘NISARG GRAM’ in Pune, Maharashtra.
In his address, Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to boosting immunity and the ability to combat diseases. He highlighted the focus on nutrition, yoga, Ayurveda, and hygiene to prevent illnesses, promoting both traditional Indian systems of medicine and modern medicine. The Prime Minister also mentioned the inauguration of two major hospitals and research centers related to Yoga and Naturopathy in Maharashtra and Haryana, along with the upcoming establishment of a WHO center for traditional medicine in Gujarat.
The ‘Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy’ in Jhajjar, Haryana, is an Apex level facility for Yoga and Naturopathy research and education. The project, costing INR 63.88 Crore, includes a 200-bed hospital with outpatient services, a treatment block, academic block, hostel, residential block, yoga block, and diet block, spread across 19 acres.
NISARG GRAM in Pune, Maharashtra, is a 250-bed hospital with a Multi-disciplinary Research and Extension Service Centre, alongside a Naturopathy Medical College offering Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Para Medical courses. The INR 213.55 Crore project encompasses residential and non-residential facilities such as hostels, an auditorium, yoga hall, cottages, and the renowned Gandhi Memorial Hall.
These institutes, the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) in Pune and the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Jhajjar, signify crucial steps towards promoting holistic healthcare through traditional systems.
Various approaches including hydrotherapy, massage, clinical nutrition, and yoga therapy will also be provided to address emerging healthcare challenges, particularly Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and educational programs, these institutes aim to empower individuals to prioritize their health and well-being.
