Kriti Chachra, a 2021-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of Assam. In a concurrent role, she will also serve as Joint Commissioner of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
Prior to this appointment, Chachra held the position of Additional District Commissioner in Bijni, where she was actively involved in district-level governance and developmental initiatives. Her transfer to the urban affairs portfolio is seen as a strategic move to bolster policy implementation and governance in Assam’s rapidly evolving urban landscape.
