The Women and Child Development Ministry have introduced schemes worth Rs 1.71 lakh crore for children and women. The government has also planned to add 300 more ‘One Stop Centers’ across the country to support women affected by violence. Women facing domestic violence will be counseled at these centers.

During the announcement of the scheme, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani said the health of women is an integral part of the government’s programmes and policies. She further added, “The Union Budget 2022-23 will witness a 14 percent rise in spending on women-related programs.”
Kundan Idzes, principal secretary, Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra said, “Several children were orphaned and many lost both their parents during the challenging times of Covid. The ministry’s intervention to help and protect the children came at the right time. With 791 from Maharashtra and 4,350 kids across India, the children in need of care and protection are ensured some safety and security, courtesy of the intervention.”
