Prime Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) at Jamnagar in Gujarat on Tuesday. PM Modi is on a 3-day visit to the state.

A curtain-raiser press conference was organized by the Ministry of Ayush and the Government of Gujarat to discuss two important developments in the field of traditional medicine in India – the groundbreaking event of the WHO Global centre for Tradition Medicine and organizing the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit (GAIIS). Organized in Gujarat, both the events will be graced by PM Modi, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth, and Director-General of World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus.
The government aims to enhance the potential of traditional medicine by incorporating technological advancements and evidence-based research. The GCTM intends to optimize the contribution of traditional medicine to global health by focusing on evidence and learning, data and analytics, sustainability and equity, and innovation and technology. The Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit will be organized from April 20 to April 22 in Gandhinagar. The Summit endeavors to increase investments and encourage the integration of innovations in the field of traditional medicine.
