New Delhi: Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd.(TRIFED) has collaborated with the Ministry of Ayush to supply 34,000 yoga mats, aimed at promoting tribal artisans and their remarkable artistry.
It is set to coincide with the upcoming International Yoga Day that highlights the government’s commitment to uplifting tribal communities and celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.
Along with reinforcing the economic prospects of tribal communities, this initiative will also be a key factor in preserving and promoting the unique artistic traditions of tribal artisans.
The 34,000 yoga mats have been procured exclusively from tribal artisans across different regions of the country. Representing their own respective communities, the artisans will display distinct designs and motifs on the yoga mats reflecting the diverse cultural heritage of India’s tribes, stories, folklore, and artistic legacy.
The supplied yoga mats will be utilized by the Ministry of Ayush on International Yoga Day for various events, workshops, and training programs that are scheduled. Undeniably, the mats will foster a deep connection between yoga enthusiasts and the rich cultural heritage of tribal artisans.
