New Delhi: India and LAO PDR have signed the five MoUs for the implementation of five Quick Impact Projects (QIPs). These projects cover a range of important sectors including Education, Health, Water Facility, and IT.
These MoUs were signed during the 3rd round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held between India and Lao PDR in Vientiane. Leading the Lao PDR delegation was Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Indian delegation was led by Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs.
Both sides held discussions on enhancing cooperation in various domains, such as agriculture, health, education, defense, heritage conservation, development partnership, economic and trade ties. In addition, they exchanged their viewpoints on regional and global issues of common interest, while reaffirming their commitment to collaboration within multilateral platforms including the United Nations, ASEAN, and Mekong Ganga Cooperation.
India is dedicated to sustaining its development partnership with Lao PDR, a valued ally in India’s extended neighborhood. The next round of Foreign Office Consultations will take place in New Delhi.
