With an aim to enhance administrative efficiency, the Assam government has undertaken a major overhaul by transferring 14 senior officers across various key ranks, including Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Commissioners. The reshuffle is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to crucial departments, reflecting the government’s commitment to effective governance.
IAS Ravi Shankar Prasad appointed as Special Chief Secretary, overseeing the Environment & Forest Soil Conservation, and serving as the Principal Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.
IAS Syedain Abbasi assumes the role of Special Chief Secretary, responsible for Public Health Engineering, Water Resources, Irrigation, and Information Technology Departments. IAS Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani elevated to the position of Special Chief Secretary, taking charge of Agriculture, Transformation & Development Departments.
