Nitin Gadkari Launches Ambitious Road Development Projects in Uttarakhand

Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key projects, earlier this week. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the dedication of 30 National Highway (NH) projects worth Rs 4,755 crore in Haridwar and eight NH projects valued at over Rs 2,200 crore in Tanakpur, Champawat.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed his satisfaction in addressing the state’s infrastructure challenges, promising swift resolutions. He affirmed a commitment to kick-start projects worth approximately two lakh crore rupees to elevate road infrastructure, vowing to provide Uttarakhand with roads of international standards akin to those in Switzerland and Australia.

Gadkari highlighted the central government’s ambitious plan to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in Uttarakhand’s road infrastructure. He further pledged that by the culmination of 2024, Uttarakhand’s national highways would match the quality of those in the United States, emphasizing a transformative leap in road development.

The Union Minister unveiled plans to allocate an additional Rs 60 crore to complement the existing Rs 1.40 crore investment, totaling Rs 2 lakh crore for road infrastructure in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami echoed this vision, emphasizing the indispensable role of road construction in advancing human civilization.

Dhami hailed the road projects as a significant milestone for Uttarakhand, heralding a new era of development and improved connectivity. He underscored the importance of efficient road networks in enhancing tourism and economic growth, citing the newfound identity of Uttarakhand as a beacon of progress and development.

The projects inaugurated in Tanakpur garnered particular attention, with Dhami noting their long-awaited status and their potential to revolutionize connectivity in the Manaskhand region. Upon completion, these projects are poised to fortify Uttarakhand’s road network, providing seamless transportation facilities to tourists and locals alike.
