IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma Promoted to Inspector General Rank

IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma has been elevated to the prestigious rank of Inspector General. This promotion marks a notable milestone in Sharma’s career, as he transitions from his previous position as Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) recently approved the promotions for several IPS officers belonging to the 2003, 2004, and 2005 batches, with Sharma being one of the distinguished officers included in this list.

Sharma’s journey to this high rank has been nothing short of inspiring, serving as the inspiration for the critically acclaimed movie ‘12th Fail.’ The film portrayed his remarkable journey from being a high school dropout to achieving the prestigious rank of an IPS officer. Sharma’s determination and perseverance shone through as he cleared the UPSC examination on his fourth attempt, securing an impressive All India Rank of 121. Despite facing challenges, he pursued his education and now holds a B.A. in Hindi.
