The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has appointed six IAS officer trainees from the 2022 batch as Assistant Secretaries. These officers, who recently completed their district training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, will begin their assignments on May 20, 2024, and continue until July 12, 2024.
The appointed officers and their previous roles are as follows:
- An engineering graduate (BE), IAS Sachin Sharma (Himachal Pradesh cadre) recently served as Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
- IAS Gaurav Kumar (Bihar cadre) holds a Master’s degree in Geography and recently served as Assistant Collector in Aurangabad, Bihar.
- A BTech graduate, IAS Parth Gupta (Bihar cadre) recently served as Assistant Collector in Madhubani, Bihar.
- IAS Rahul Anand (Uttarakhand cadre), a BTech degree holder, completed his district training in Uttarakhand.
- With a BA degree, IAS Sushant Padha (AGMUT cadre), recently served as Attached Deputy Commissioner with the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) in South Delhi.
- IAS Vishal Khatri (Maharashtra cadre), holds a BTech and a Postgraduate Diploma. He recently served as a Supernumerary Assistant Collector in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra.
