Kamal Kishore Soan, a distinguished IAS officer from the Jharkhand Cadre (Batch: 1998), has assumed the additional charge of Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, effective from May 31, 2024. This new role complements his current position as Additional Secretary and Director General, Labour Welfare in the same ministry.
His extensive portfolio includes roles in Land Revenue Management and District Administration, Agriculture & Cooperation, Health, Building Construction, Transport, Finance, Energy, Water Resources, and Social Justice & Empowerment.
In his previous roles, Soan has been instrumental in various initiatives aimed at enhancing public welfare and infrastructure development. His tenure in the Ministry of Labour & Employment has been marked by a commitment to labor welfare and the enhancement of workers’ rights and benefits.
