Amardeep Singh Bhatia Takes Charge as Secretary, DPIIT

Amardeep Singh Bhatia, a seasoned IAS officer from the 1993 Nagaland cadre, has officially assumed the role of Secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He succeeds Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, who has now taken on the position of Officer on Special Duty at the Department of Defence.

Before this appointment, he served as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. His career in the Central Government has been marked by a series of key positions in the Ministries of Corporate Affairs and Health & Family Welfare.

In addition to his extensive experience at the central level, he has held significant roles in the Nagaland State Government. His portfolio has included the Departments of Planning & Coordination, Health & Family Welfare, Environment & Forest, Municipalities and Local Self Government, and Home, among others.
