Amit Sharma pushes Mizoram to win National Award for DigiLocker by NeGD, MeitY, Govt of India

Amit Sharma, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Department and Director Census Operations & Citizen Registration, Mizoram led yet another special accolade for the state of Mizoram in securing a National Award for excellent performance in Digilocker domain which was awarded today to the state by National e-Governance Division in DigiLocker/Entity Locker National Conference at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi today.

Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma, who was invited to receive this prestigious national award by Nand Kumarum, President & CEO, National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India in acknowledgment of exemplary performance and contribution towards DigiLocker adoption and implementation in Mizoram deputed his team, led by Principal Informatics Officer, Pu Ringa Ralte and State e-Mission Team Head, Pu Bikiran Mohapatra to receive this prestigious award on behalf of the state.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Mizoram state has touched new heights and set highest standards in terms of Information, Technology and Communications sector over last one year, after Amit Sharma took-over the role as Administrative Secretary of this significant department, which is leading Digital India mission in full swing here, since then.

Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma dedicated this prestigious national award in DigiLocker domain to the great vision of Chief Minister Pu Laldohoma, ICT Minister Pu Vanlalthlana, Chief Secretary Pu Khili Ram Meena alongwith all other fellow Administrative Secretaries, who backed him up constantly in pushing Mizoram towards adoption of latest technologies and bridging the digital divide here.

To name a few such digital initiatives taken under the stewardship of Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma, are the successful implementation of e-Office or paperless office in Mizoram Secretariat, inking an MoU with BHASHINI, an AI-driven initiative to bridge linguistic barriers in state, pushing Digilocker to new heights thereby winning a National Award in its performance here, beginning the work of long-pending Mizo Fibre Grid Network (MFGN) to lay Optical Fibre Cable across all districts of state for enhancing Internet Connectivity, significant improvement in Telecom Signals and spread of BTS of various Telcos in alm 11 districts of state over the last one year, so and so forth.

Furthermore, Secretary ICT Amit Sharma shared that the state of Mizoram has climbed to a point of no-return, in terms of technology implementation and spread of communication networks and there shall be a greater impetus towards impelemebting latest technologies like Blockchain Management, Artificial Intelligence, Drones and Robotics in the state of Mizoram, in the times to come.
