The Centre has announced that all adults can get their Covid-19 vaccine precaution doses from April 10 onwards. 18+ groups who have completed nine months after their second dose can get their precaution dose at private vaccination centers. The announcement was made by the Union Health Ministry. The move to administer a booster dose was to ensure protection from emerging variants of COVID-19.

Earlier, only frontline workers, healthcare workers, and citizens above 60 years were eligible for the third dose. But from April 10, the booster dose will be available for 1-year-olds as well subject to payment.
The health ministry said, “All those who are more than 18 years of age and have completed nine months after the administration of the second dose, would be eligible for precaution dose. This facility would be available in all private vaccination centers.”
