The information and broadcasting ministry on Monday have launched the ‘Broadcast Seva’ portal to enable hassle-free application and processing of licenses, permissions, and registrations for broadcasters.

On the launch of the revamped portal, Anurag Thakur, Union I&B minister said this initiative will bring transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to the ecosystem. Further, he added that the Digital India initiative of government is a remarkable success story of New India and that the ministry through the Broadcast Seva Portal aims to create an institutional mechanism that makes it easier for people to apply for licenses and approvals thorough single platform. In addition, this platform will boost the government’s commitment to providing ease of doing business in the broadcasting industry.
Thakur said the online platform will strengthen the business environment and empower the entire broadcast sector by directly benefitting over 900 satellite TV channels, 1,700 multi-services, 70 teleport operators, 350 community radio stations, 380 FM channels, and others.
