Byju’s acquires Singapore-based Northwest Executive Education

EdTech unicorn Byju’s has acquired Singapore-based Northwest Executive Education to continue to strengthen its higher education vertical, as per the information provided by people familiar with the matter. Northwest Executive Education offers programmes in collaboration with global universities including Harvard Medical School, Berkeley University of California, and Yale School of Management among others.

The acquisition of Northwest Executive comes almost a year after the Edtech unicorn had acquired a 100 percent stake in Singapore-based Great Learning for $600 million.

Byju’s has been on an acquisition spree since the beginning of 2021 as it endeavors to consolidate its leadership in the online and offline learning areas across categories and different geographies. The firm has acquired over 10 firms since the pandemic outbreak as demand for online education has drastically increased with governments across the globe as the government has imposed a lockdown to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
