Centre Announces Major Joint Secretary-Level Bureaucratic Reshuffle

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a significant bureaucratic reshuffle at the Joint Secretary and equivalent levels, involving officers from various services, cadres, and batches. The new postings reflect a comprehensive administrative restructuring across key ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Among the key appointments:

  • Sonal Bajaj (IRS C&IT: 1998) has been appointed as Director (Finance), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), Mumbai, under the Department of Atomic Energy, for a five-year tenure, succeeding M. Sankaranarayann (IAS: 2003: MH).

  • Jai Prakash Pandey (IRPS: 2003) takes over as Joint Director General (JS level) at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, for a combined tenure up to February 2027.

  • Brij Mohan Mishra (IAS: 2008: UT) has been appointed Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, replacing Amitabh Kumar (IRS C&IT: 1992).

  • Neeraj Kharwal (IAS: 2007: UD) assumes charge as Managing Director (JS Level) at India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Department of Commerce, for five years.

  • Sudeep Shrivastava (IRSSE: 2001) will serve as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), for five years, succeeding Amod Kumar (IAS: 1995: UP).

  • Siljo V K (ISS: 2004) becomes Deputy Director General (DDG) at UIDAI, under MeitY, replacing Manish Bhardwaj (IAS: 1997: GJ).

  • Manish Tiwari (IRTS: 1995) has been appointed Joint Secretary, Warehousing Development & Regulatory Authority (WDRA), till his superannuation in September 2029.

  • Lokesh Kumar Sharma (IOFS: 1998) takes over as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), replacing Manoj Kumar Jain.

  • Hema Jaiswal (ISS: 2004) has also been appointed as Executive Director, FCI, under the Department of Food & Public Distribution, replacing Akhilesh Misra (IRSME: 1995).

  • Harsh Mangla (IAS: 2008: JH) assumes charge as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, replacing Latha Ganapathy (IAS: 2007: TN).

  • Gaya Prasad (ISS: 1996) will serve as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, till his superannuation in July 2028.

  • Shruti Singh (IAS: 2004: PB) has been appointed Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, replacing Garima Singh (CSS).

  • Roli Shukla Malge (IA&AS: 2002) has been named FA & CAO, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, replacing Sanjay Pandey (ICAS: 1994).

  • Rajendra Kumar Agrawal (IRPS: 2000) becomes Additional Secretary (JS Level) at UPSC, under DoPT, till September 2030, succeeding Kumar Sanjay Bariar (IP&TA&FS: 1993).

  • Jai Prakash Shivahare (IAS: 2002: GJ) has been appointed Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), for five years.

  • Vikas Gupta (IAS: 2001: HY) has been appointed Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), replacing Nidhi Pandey (IInfoS: 1991).

The reshuffle is part of the Centre’s continued effort to strengthen administrative efficiency and inter-departmental coordination across key policy areas.
