DPIIT and Mercedes-Benz India Sign MoU to Strengthen India’s Manufacturing and Innovation Ecosystem

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into a strategic partnership with Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited through MoU aimed at advancing India’s manufacturing ecosystem, road safety, and environmental sustainability. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to fostering technological excellence and societal development through structured programs for startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director, DPIIT, and Santosh Iyer, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

The initiative will provide startups with crucial support, including infrastructure, mentorship, funding opportunities, and market linkages, thereby accelerating the growth of India’s innovation landscape. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate international collaborations and knowledge exchange to ensure long-term impact and progress in the industry.

Emphasizing on the strategic importance of the MoU, DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv stated that our partnership with Mercedes-Benz India is a significant step towards enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities while promoting responsible and sustainable innovations. This initiative will strengthen industry-academia linkages and foster an ecosystem that drives impactful technological advancements.

Mercedes-Benz India’s Managing Director, Santosh Iyer, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, aligning it with the company’s focus areas of road safety, environmental sustainability, and advanced manufacturing. He highlighted that the company will leverage its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding to work closely with incubators and educational institutes to drive meaningful societal impact.
