ESI Scheme Recorded the Addition of 17.88 Lakh New Workers

New Delhi: According to the provisional payroll data from ESIC, there has been an addition of 17. 8 lakh new employees in April 2023. Additionally, approximately 30,249 new establishments have been registered and included in the social security coverage of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation, thereby expanding the coverage.

According to recently released data, more jobs have been created for the youth of the nation. Out of the 17. 88 lakh employees, who were added in the month, 8. 37 lakh of them are under the age of 25, which makes up 47% of the total number of new registrations.

When looking at the data based on gender, it shows that 3. 35 lakh new female members were enrolled in April 2023. Additionally, 63 transgender employees were also registered under the ESI Scheme during the same month. This data demonstrates that the ESIC is dedicated to ensuring that its benefits reach all members of society.

It is important to note that this payroll data is still provisional since the process of generating data is a continuous process.
