Green fundraise by Indian firms expected to grow 50 percent this year

An investment amounting to $15 trillion has been expected in the ESG space, and more investment opportunities will be seized in the next two years. With the huge investment, excellent opportunities are on the way for companies in the green business as well traditional industries like cement and steel that aim to reduce the environmental impact of their business.

The rising climate change awareness and the Russia-Ukraine war calls for diversified energy sources, ESG investments, and fundraising are expected to grow. Bank of America has projected that global ESG bond issuances will reach $1.2 to 1.4 trillion in the year 2022.

ESG bond issuance from India could fetch $15 billion in 2022, which is approximately 50 percent more than the $10 billion raised in 2021. A number of Indian companies are already eligible to float ESG bonds as almost all top 100 firms have shown sustainability reports with firm commitments.
