The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on Monday with Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda administering the Integrity Pledge to senior officers and staff in New Delhi.
The week-long campaign, observed from October 27 to November 2, is being held nationwide under the theme “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी” (Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility). The initiative, guided by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), aims to reinforce the culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability across public institutions.
Addressing the gathering, Nadda emphasized the need to make vigilance an “institutional habit”, highlighting its role as a cornerstone of good governance. “A checklist of do’s and don’ts should be prepared in simple, layman’s terms so that people do not end up doing anything wrong in good faith or under compassionate consideration,” he said. He also called for regular training and capacity-building programs to strengthen awareness and compliance among public servants.
In preparation for the observance, the CVC had earlier directed all government departments and organizations to undertake a three-month campaign on Preventive Vigilance from August 18 to November 17. The initiative focuses on five key areas — disposal of pending complaints, disposal of pending cases, capacity building, asset management, and digital initiatives.
Senior officers and staff members of the Health Ministry participated in the ceremony, reaffirming their collective commitment to uphold the values of honesty, transparency, and ethical governance in public administration.
