India Post Payments Bank and Hindustan Zinc Forge Alliance for Rural Financial Transformation

In a landmark collaboration set to revolutionize the financial landscape of rural Rajasthan, the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group, have joined forces to pioneer inclusive financial solutions. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IPPB and HZL was signed by Gursharan Rai Bansal, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of IPPB, and Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc.

Gursharan Rai Bansal, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of IPPB, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, ‘Joining hands with Hindustan Zinc Ltd. to provide financial inclusion services to its beneficiaries will help IPPB foray into the domain of serving the population benefited by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of prominent corporates in India.’

Arun Misra, CEO of HZL, emphasized the transformative nature of the alliance, saying, ‘This transformative alliance with India Post Payments Bank reflects our dedication to empowering communities. By merging our strengths with IPPB, we aim to redefine financial inclusion and empower our community beneficiaries with access to advanced financial services.’

The collaboration aims to create a lasting impact on the lives of community beneficiaries around Hindustan Zinc’s operational areas. IPPB will play a pivotal role in providing financial inclusion services, including assistance in opening bank accounts, access to pension products, long-term savings, and investment schemes. The partnership will also empower over 3.5 lakh beneficiaries, including Self-Help Group (SHG) women, farmers, and youth, to become Individual Business Correspondents for various IPPB services.

Furthermore, IPPB will promote government social welfare schemes through its banking channels, assisting beneficiaries in availing income-generating loans through IPPB’s lending partners. The alliance solidifies IPPB’s commitment to reaching the last mile with best-in-class digital banking services.

The MoU signing event witnessed the presence of dignitaries from both India Post Payments Bank and Hindustan Zinc, including Vishwanath Divya (AGM Marketing) and Anupam Nidhi, Head CSR (HZL).

This collaboration not only underscores Hindustan Zinc’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility but also contributes to the sustainable development of the regions it operates in, solidifying its reputation as a leader in driving positive change. The alliance is poised to bring about a significant transformation in rural financial services, creating a model for inclusive growth and economic resilience in communities.
