A comprehensive e-governance initiative that might serve as a model for the entire state is being planned by the Kochi Corporation in collaboration with the Information Kerela Mission. This is the corporation’s all-out effort to catch up with other local bodies in terms of offering internet services after falling behind them until last year.

The corporation’s e-governance initiative, which was launched about a year and a half ago, is still not finished. IKM served as the implementing agency initially. Later, the agency left the project without giving any explanations. The municipal organisation assigned TCS the project in 2011. According to the contract, TCS was supposed to finish it in 52 weeks. But even after a year, the business was unable to put it into practise. The corporate authorities repeatedly pushed the date before terminating the agreement with TCS.
The project will receive funding from the Cochin Smart Mission Limited. The proposed initiative will assist the Kochi Corporation in solving a number of problems, including simplifying the clearance of all types of transportation and complaint resolution. The business intends to offer as many facilities as feasible.
