The Lokpal of India, under the guidance of Chairperson Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar, welcomed three new members into its fold. The oath-taking ceremony, conducted at the Lokpal of India Campus in New Delhi, marked the formal induction of these esteemed individuals into key roles within the institution.
The newly appointed Judicial Members are Justice Lingappa Narayana Swamy and Justice Sanjay Yadav, while the newly appointed Member is Sushil Chandra.
Justice Lingappa Narayana Swamy had served as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court and also holds the distinction of being a former Judge of the Karnataka High Court.
Justice Sanjay Yadav, the newly appointed Judicial Member, previously held the position of Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. His judicial career includes tenures at the Allahabad High Court and Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Sushil Chandra, a seasoned 1980 batch IRS (IT) officer, assumes the role of Member of Lokpal of India. Prior to this, he served as the 24th Chief Election Commissioner of India and also held the position of Chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Members of the Lokpal such as Justice Hemant Gupta, Chairperson of the India International Arbitration Centre (IIAC); Justice Indermeet Kaur Kochhar, Member of the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal (MWDT); Justice Ravi Ranjan, also a Member of MWDT; Praveen Kumar Srivastava, Central Vigilance Commissioner; Arvinda Kumar, Vigilance Commissioner, and senior officers from the CBI and ED.
