In a recent shake-up of the state administration, the Meghalaya government has transferred four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as part of a broader bureaucratic reshuffle. This move is aimed at enhancing governance efficiency and addressing key administrative needs in the state.
IAS Swapnil Tembe has been appointed as the Secretary of the Finance Department, taking on the crucial role of overseeing the state’s fiscal management. His appointment comes at a time when the state government is focused on improving financial administration and resource allocation.
Meanwhile, IAS D.D. Sangma has been given the additional responsibility of Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya Board of School Education. This new role will see him play a significant part in shaping the educational landscape of the state, ensuring better governance and reforms in school education.
In another key appointment, IAS T.G. Momin has been assigned the additional charge as Secretary of the Meghalaya Farmers’ (Empowerment) Commission. This move is aimed at bolstering support for the state’s agricultural sector and improving the welfare of farmers through targeted policies and initiatives.
Finally, IAS Jagdish Chelani has been entrusted with the additional role of State Project Director of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. His appointment will see him overseeing the implementation of this national program, which seeks to achieve universal elementary education across the state.
