Naima Khatoon has shattered a 123-year-old glass ceiling by being appointed as the first female Vice Chancellor in the institution’s history. Her appointment comes after approval from President Droupadi Murmu, who serves as the Visitor of the University, and nomination by the Ministry of Education.
Previously serving as the principal of AMU’s women’s college, she currently holds the esteemed position of Director of the Center for Skill Development and Career Planning at AMU. Her academic prowess, particularly in the field of political psychology, has garnered recognition both nationally and internationally.
With a PhD in political psychology, Khatoon’s scholarly contributions are vast and varied. She has authored, co-authored, and edited six books, shedding light on critical aspects of her field. Furthermore, her research papers have found homes in prestigious national and international journals, solidifying her reputation as a leading figure in academia.
She was honored with the prestigious Papa Mian Padma Bhushan Best Girl Award, further underscoring her dedication and contribution to society.
