Kathmandu: The inauguration of three school buildings, namely Shree Malika Higher Secondary School in Lalikanda, Shree Bhairav Secondary School in Badabhairav, and Shree Jagadish Secondary School in Badakhola, as well as one campus building of Shree Narayan Campus in Rampur, located in Dailekh District in the Karnali province of Nepal, reflects India’s development partnership with Nepal.
With financial assistance of NRs.108.60 million from the Government of India, these projects were implemented through DCC Dailekh and were formally handed over to the concerned local authorities of the government of Nepal for full-fledged use.
These were taken up as High Impact Community Development Projects under an agreement between the two governments. The schools and campus buildings will aid students in the area by furnishing them with quality educational infrastructure and creating a suitable environment for good-quality education.
The Government of India has undertaken over 544 such High Impact Community Development Projects in Nepal since 2003, with 14 projects in Karnali Pradesh, including four in Dailekh. Additionally, the Indian government has gifted 940 ambulances and 184 school buses to various hospitals, health posts, and educational institutions in Nepal on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day of India.
Six ambulances have been provided to Dailekh District to date. These projects by the Indian government supplement the efforts of the Nepalese government in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.
