Odisha Government Promotes IAS G Mathivathanan and IAS Santosh Kumar Sarangi to ACS Rank

Odisha government has promoted two seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, IAS G Mathivathanan and IAS Santosh Kumar Sarangi, both belonging to the distinguished 1994 batch of IAS, to the coveted Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) rank. The promotion places them in Level-17 of the Pay Matrix, also known as the Apex Scale.

The announcement came through a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA & PG) department, formalizing the decision to elevate these accomplished bureaucrats. IAS G Mathivathanan, who previously served as the principal in the Housing and Urban Development department, has been appointed to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). The notification grants him the authority to continue in this prestigious position until further orders from the government.

Simultaneously, IAS Santosh Kumar Sarangi, currently holding the position of Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has been accorded Proforma Promotion to the Apex Scale.

The newly appointed Additional Chief Secretary and the officer with Proforma Promotion are expected to play crucial roles in steering key departments, leveraging their wealth of experience to address administrative challenges and contribute to the overall progress of the state.
