With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions and businesses getting back on track, the MSME sector is expected to witness business growth and outcome. This was revealed in a business sentiment survey of Khatabook on Monday. The overall sentiment across industries was optimistic about the business growth with 68 percent of the MSMEs expecting enhanced prospects. The 7 percent had expected a dip in business in the first half of 2022.

As per the report, during the second half of 2021, 41 percent of the MSME owners in the country have witnessed significant growth in their business, 23 percent of MSME owners have seen a dip in their business, and the business of remaining 36 percent have remained stagnant.
Khatabook has studied 15,942 MSMEs across the country to analyze the business growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2020 and the projected growth for the first and second quarters of 2022.
As per the survey, 54 percent of the business did not face any significant challenges during this period. The remaining 46 percent faced certain issues including weak demand, financial liquidity, and credit availability.
