The Punjab government has issued transfer orders for two IPS officers, along with a reshuffle of several Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers, with immediate effect.
As part of the reshuffle, IPS Arvind Meena (2020 batch) has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP), Headquarters, Ropar. He succeeds PPS Rajpal Singh. Prior to this assignment, Meena served as SP, SD, North, Amritsar.
Another IPS officer from the 2020 batch, Dayama Harish Kumar Omprakash, has been transferred to the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab. He was previously serving as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Intelligence, Punjab, SAS Nagar.
Additionally, the Punjab government has made several key postings among PPS officers:
Rupinder Singh, currently serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Vigilance Bureau, Ludhiana, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) City, Ludhiana.
Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, presently DCP Rural, Ludhiana, has been posted as Commandant, 7th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Kapurthala, against a vacant post.
Harpreet Singh, currently AIG, Admin, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Punjab, has been placed at the disposal of the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
Gursewak Singh, serving as SSP, Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar Range, has been appointed AIG, Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur, replacing Lakhbir Singh.
Lakhbir Singh, presently AIG, Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur, has been placed at the disposal of the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
