The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Satish Kumar (IRMS) as a Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board for a period of one year. As of now, Kumar is Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), Railway Board.
Kumar replaces the outgoing Chairman & CEO Jaya Verma Sinha (IRTS), who is completing her tenure (on re-employment basis) on 31.08.2024.
According to statement, Interestingly, Kumar has been appointed on re-employment basis post his superannuation date 31.12.2024. He will attain the retirement age on 31.12.2024 following which he will continue to be Chairman & CEO till 31.08.2025 w.e.f. 01.01.2025.
It may further be underlined that after handing over the charge, Jaya Verma Sinha will assume as Member, in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
