Solar Energy Corporation of India Achieves Navratna Status

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), a leading Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has been granted the prestigious Navratna status by the Ministry of Finance. This recognition comes as SECI celebrates its 13th year of incorporation, marking a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy sector.

Since its establishment, SECI has played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of Renewable Energy (RE) capacity in India. With a cumulative generation awarded capacity of 69.25 GW and an annual power trading volume exceeding 42 billion units, SECI has firmly positioned itself as the foremost Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) in the country. The organization continues to drive progress toward India’s climate goals and sustainable development objectives.

In the Financial Year 2023-24, SECI reported a consolidated annual turnover of Rs. 13,118.68 crore, representing a 20.85% increase over the previous year. The company also posted a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 510.92 crore, reflecting a substantial growth of 34.89%. These financial achievements underscore SECI’s commitment to expanding India’s renewable energy landscape.

The Navratna status confers greater autonomy to SECI in financial and operational matters, allowing the company to accelerate its growth trajectory. With this enhanced status, SECI will benefit from improved agility, expanded geographical presence, and a stronger focus on technological advancements.
