In an administrative overhaul, the Telangana government on Thursday issued orders transferring 33 IAS officers and two IFS officers, aiming to streamline governance and boost efficiency across departments. The transfer orders were issued by Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao.
As part of the reshuffle, Navin Mittal, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, has been moved to the Energy Department in the same capacity. DS Lokesh Kumar has been given full additional charge (FAC) as Secretary, Revenue Department, and Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA).
N Sridhar, Principal Secretary, SC Development, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, with an additional charge of Principal Secretary, Mines & Geology.
Shashank Goel, earlier serving as Special Chief Secretary at Telangana Bhavan, Delhi, has now been posted as Resident Commissioner, Telangana Bhavan, replacing Gaurav Uppal, who takes over as Secretary to Government, Coordination (GoI Projects).
New District Collectors Appointed
The reshuffle brought major changes to district administrations. Harichandana Dasari, Special Secretary, R&B Department, has been appointed as the new Collector of Hyderabad, replacing Anudeep Durishetty, who will now serve as Collector, Khammam.
T Vinay Krishna Reddy is the new Collector of Nizamabad, while Mikkilineni Manu Choudary, previously serving in Siddipet, will now take charge as Collector of Medchal-Malkajgiri. Sneha Shabarish, Additional Commissioner at GHMC, will serve as Collector of Hanamkonda.
K Hymavathi, Project Director at AIDS Control Society, becomes Collector of Siddipet, and P Pravinya, earlier Hanamkonda Collector, is posted as Collector of Sangareddy.
Key Departmental Shifts
Jyoti Buddha Prakash, Secretary, Registration & Stamps and Housing, will now head the SC Development Department, with additional charges as Secretary, Planning, and Director General, Telangana Remote Sensing Applications Centre (TGRAC).
Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, Collector, Nizamabad, moves to the role of Special Secretary, Registration & Stamps in the Revenue Department, with multiple FAC roles, including Commissioner & IG (Registration & Stamps), Commissioner (Survey Settlements & Land Records), and Project Director, Bhu Bharathi.
G Srijana, Director, Panchayat Raj, is now also FAC Director of Women and Child Development, and A Nirmala Kanthi Wesley is appointed as Secretary and CEO, Telangana Human Rights Commission.
Siva Sankar Lotheti and Chittem Lakshmi, both previously awaiting postings, have been appointed as Joint Secretaries in Agriculture & Cooperation and GAD respectively.
Gowtham Potru, Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector, becomes Director, SCCL, while Valluru Kranthi, Sangareddy Collector, is now MD, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation.
P Uday Kumar has been appointed CEO of Arogyasri Health Care Trust, with additional FAC as Special Secretary, Public Enterprises. Priyanka Ala takes charge as Secretary, Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC).
Muzammil Khan, Collector, Khammam, moves to Director, Civil Supplies, with FAC as Joint Secretary (Civil Supplies) and Chief Rationing Officer.
IFS and IA&AS Officer Postings
Among IFS officers, B Shafiullah has been posted as Secretary, Minority Welfare Department, and given FAC as Director, Minorities Welfare, and Secretary, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS).
VSNV Prasad has been appointed Director, Urban Forestry, HMDA. IA&AS officer Nikhil Chakravarthi, Executive Director at TGIIC, has been posted as Director, Industries.
In addition to the bureaucratic reshuffle, the state government also reassigned the responsibility of district oversight among ministers. A few senior ministers were relieved of their district duties, while the three newly-inducted Cabinet members were assigned as in-charge ministers for specific districts.
This reshuffle is seen as a strategic step by the state government to bring in fresh energy, ensure effective administration, and align leadership across departments and districts with developmental priorities.
