Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the union Budget 2022-23 is focused on making the agriculture sector advance and smart. He further added that his government has taken various initiatives for the entire Agri value chain from seed to market and also improved the traditional systems.
Prime Minister while addressing a post-budget webinar on smart agriculture said that the agriculture budget has accelerated manifold in just six months. Moreover, the farm loans for farmers have also witnessed a surge of 2.5 times in seven years.
To make the agriculture sector modern, seven main avenues have been suggested including natural farming on mission mode along the Ganges with 5 km wide corridors on sides of the river, offering modern technology, and offering other facilities like regular banking at more than 1.5 lakh post offices. He emphasized managing the agri-residue in a better way. For this, some new measures have been taken in this budget that will help reduce carbon emissions, and farmers will also be able to earn extra income.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi encouraged the startups to come forward and initiate creating a network of soil testing labs in the country.
