According to Union Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal, the Union government plans to establish 75 textile hubs, similar to Trippur, that will not only promote the export of textile products and ensure the use of sustainable technology, but will also create a significant amount of job opportunities.

The minister claims that the textile industry alone, which is the second largest employer in India after agriculture, employs between 3.5 and 4 crore people nationwide. Around Rs. 10 lakh crore is the estimated industry size, while approximately Rs. 3.5 lakh crore is the estimated export.
claiming that with exports of $10 trillion in the next five years, the textile industry has the potential to expand to a Rs 20 lakh crore business, Even so, Goyal claimed that a modest export objective of Rs 7.5–8 lakh crore and a production target of roughly Rs 20 lakh crore, both of which are reachable in the next five years, have been conveyed.
