According to the provisions of Section 70B of the IT Act, 2000, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), which serves as the national agency for carrying out various functions in the area of cyber security in the nation, has decided to grant extensions to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises until September 25, 2022 in order to enable them to develop the capacity needed for the implementation of the cyber security Directions.

Additionally, until September 25, 2022, data centres, virtual private server providers, cloud service providers, and virtual private network service providers are given an extension to install a mechanism related to the validation aspects of subscribers/customers details,according to a press statement from MeitY on Tuesday
CERT-In manages cyber occurrences that are tracked and reported to it while continuously analysing cyber risks. On April 28, this year, CERT-In announced guidelines for information security procedures as part of its authority under Section 70B(6) of the Information Technology Act to advance a free, open, trustworthy, and responsible internet in the nation.
