Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan reaffirmed India’s commitment to achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, emphasizing that every citizen — including those from the most economically disadvantaged sections — should have equitable access to quality healthcare.
Addressing a gathering at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) in Thiruvananthapuram, the Vice President underscored that wealth creation and equitable distribution are both essential pillars of national progress. “The benefits of growth must reach every corner of the nation, ensuring that the poor and those in remote regions have access to the best healthcare facilities,” he said.
Mr. Radhakrishnan praised the institute’s pioneering contributions in biomedical innovation, public health research, and medical technology, describing Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute as a “model of excellence and inspiration for government institutions across India.”
He also inaugurated an exhibition at the institute showcasing its landmark achievements in biomedical research, healthcare innovation, and technology development.
The Vice President assured the Government’s continued support for the institute’s research and innovation activities and commended its role in bridging science with societal welfare. His two-day visit to Kerala will conclude later today.
