The Waterways Conclave in Dibrugarh Assam under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat will connect India with its neighboring countries and create excellent and new job opportunities. The conclave also takes forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’ by providing an excellent platform to local companies to highlight Assam’s handicrafts, tea, and artisans in the exhibition. Pavilion-themed Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) aims to highlight the future prospects of the waterways sector and showcase its projects.
During the inauguration of the exhibition at the Waterways Conclave in Dibrugarh, Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH said, “Waterways will usher in a new era of growth in the country’s North-eastern region.” He also said that a waterways ecosystem that will connect India with its neighboring nations and newer job opportunities is being developed under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat vision.
Waterways Conclave was opened today for a large number of industry stakeholders and policymakers visiting the city. Six MOUs are lined up to be signed during the event. Moreover, over forty national and international companies are participating in the exhibition.
